Intern with Senator Salim's Office in Richmond!

IMG_9827.jpeg

Applications are open to all interested individuals. However, constituents of Senator Salim or those with relationships to the district will receive priority consideration. Due to the part-time nature of the Virginia Senate, internships are only available during the legislative session in Richmond, beginning in January and lasting two to three months.

All candidates must be able to work in-person at the General Assembly Building in Richmond for a minimum of 10 hours per week. Regrettably, internships are not offered virtually or outside of this period. Please include in your application a detailed explanation of the travel or lodging accommodations that will enable you to fulfill these requirements.

Interns will support various office functions, including email management, policy research, and administrative tasks. While prior office experience is not mandatory, interns are expected to maintain professional dress and demeanor in the workplace.

All interested applicants should email the Senator’s office (SenatorSalim@senate.virginia.gov) their resume and a brief cover letter no earlier than November 15th and no later than December 15th to be considered for the next year’s legislative session. Any potential applicants are also welcome to reach out to the previous email with any additional questions.
